Spin Finish Agent Steel Belt Granulator
Product Video
Long Description
In operation, the molten spin finish agent—typically heated to 50–90°C depending on its wax or oil-based formulation—is pumped from a jacketed feed tank to a heated granulator head positioned above the moving steel belt. The head deposits precise droplets onto the belt’s surface , while a water circulation system continuously cools the underside of the belt. As the belt advances, the droplets solidify into hemispherical pastilles, which are then gently scraped off and discharged onto a packaging line or storage bin. The enclosed design and low-temperature operation minimize oxidation and fume release.
Spin finish agents present specific granulation difficulties: they often have narrow solidification windows, high viscosity at room temperature, and a tendency to smear or stick to surfaces if not rapidly quenched. Many formulations are tacky or semi-solid, causing conventional flaking or prilling methods to produce irregular chunks, fines, or bridging in storage. Moreover, uneven cooling can lead to surface oil bleed or incomplete crystallization, affecting the agent’s subsequent emulsification and application performance on fibers.
The equipment is designed to operate within a flexible production range of 100 to 2000 kg/h, accommodating both small-scale and large-scale manufacturing needs. It can be integrated into existing production lines, ensuring seamless operation with upstream blending systems and downstream handling or packaging units.
Key Advantages
Uniform pastille geometry – Enables accurate batching, eliminates dust, and prevents caking during transport.
Rapid, controlled solidification – Adjustable belt speed and multi-zone cooling prevent smearing, adhesion, or oil separation.
Low product degradation – Short contact time with heated surfaces and gentle discharge maintain the agent’s chemical integrity.
Easy product changeover – The smooth, non-porous belt and quick-release scraper allow fast cleaning between different spin finish grades.
Energy-efficient cooling – Direct belt cooling uses less power than air-swept chillers, reducing operational costs.
Minimal maintenance – Corrosion-resistant stainless steel construction and sealed bearings lower downtime in continuous production environments.
