Engineered for high-performance solidification and flaking of polymers, resins, and hot melt adhesives.
Understanding the transition from traditional cooling to high-precision steel belt flaking systems.
In modern chemical and polymer processing, Hot Melt Adhesives (HMAs) have witnessed exponential growth across packaging, automotive, woodworking, and hygiene product manufacturing. HMAs are solvent-free, highly viscous formulations that must be melted for application and rapidly solidified for storage and transportation. Converting molten adhesive blends into highly uniform, free-flowing, and non-blocking pellets or flakes is a critical step in the manufacturing value chain.
Traditional solidification methods, such as underwater pelletizing or rotary drum cooling, frequently present operational challenges. Underwater pelletizers require complex water filtration and intensive drying systems, which can lead to moisture entrapment in hygroscopic adhesives like polyamides or polyesters. Rotary drums, on the other hand, often suffer from uneven cooling, resulting in inconsistent flake thickness and localized thermal degradation.
The integration of a Steel Belt Flaking Cooler resolves these bottlenecks. By depositing the molten adhesive onto a continuously moving stainless steel belt cooled by water sprays from underneath, heat is transferred rapidly and uniformly through the belt. This indirect cooling method guarantees a completely dry, contamination-free, and uniform solid product, maximizing throughput while maintaining the strict chemical integrity required for high-grade adhesive formulations.
Tailored cooling profiles for diverse polymer formulations and adhesive bases.
Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) is the industry standard for packaging and woodworking. Due to its narrow crystallization temperature range, EVA requires rapid initial cooling to prevent tackiness and blockages. Our steel belt coolers utilize multi-stage cooling zones to transition the polymer from a molten state to a brittle solid sheet, ready for clean flaking without sticky residue.
Metallocene-catalyzed polyolefins offer superior thermal stability but present unique rheological behaviors during cooling. The precise heat transfer rate of our high-tensile steel belts ensures uniform crystallization kinetics, preventing internal stresses and ensuring the final flakes or pellets remain dimensionally stable during bulk packaging.
These high-performance adhesives operate at elevated melt temperatures (often above 200°C) and are highly sensitive to moisture. The indirect cooling mechanism of the steel belt system isolates the product entirely from the cooling water, eliminating hydrolytic degradation and ensuring a completely moisture-free product.
HMPSAs remain permanently tacky even at room temperature. Solidifying these formulations requires a combination of precise temperature control, specialized release agents applied to the steel belt, and custom-designed discharge scraping systems to ensure clean release and prevent material build-up.
Over two decades of pioneering independent steel belt solidification technology.
Steel belt pastillator technology originated in Europe during the 1980s and entered the Chinese market in the late 1990s. Initially, due to its high cost, only a handful of large enterprises purchased and utilised it. To break the monopoly of foreign equipment, we commenced independent research and development of steel belt condensation pastillator as early as 2000.
Steel belt pastillators are primarily applied across multiple sectors including petrochemicals, daily chemical products, fine chemicals, and agricultural fertilizers.
Over two decades, we have served hundreds of clients ranging from multinational corporations to small start-ups, offering multifaceted advice based on extensive experience. Through user engagement, we have continuously refined designs, rapidly iterated products, and developed numerous peripheral auxiliary devices.
Engineered with precision for optimal heat exchange and mechanical reliability.
Cooling water is sprayed via pressure nozzles against the underside of the stainless steel belt. The water is collected in a closed loop, ensuring zero contact with the product, preventing chemical contamination or moisture absorption.
Built using premium-grade, high-tensile stainless steel belts with exceptional thermal conductivity. This allows for rapid heat dissipation, shorter cooling zones, and higher production speeds.
Equipped with segmented cooling zones where water temperatures can be adjusted independently. This allows for precise control over the crystallization process, ensuring optimal flake physical properties.
Crucial validation for process flows, crystallization parameters, and equipment scaling.
Since establishing our dynamic laboratory in 2010, our company has provided pre-sales testing services to every client, offering crucial validation for their process flows and parameters.
Concurrently, we have forged long-term research collaborations with numerous domestic enterprises and academic institutions, fostering mutual exchange and learning. We assist clients in developing new products, researching relevant process equipment, and conducting theoretical and practical validation services.

Integrating digital technologies to drive efficiency and sustainability in pelletizing lines.
Our state-of-the-art water recycling systems minimize water waste by up to 95%. By pairing closed-loop heat exchangers with high-efficiency cooling towers, we help manufacturers reduce their carbon footprint and lower utility costs.
As the chemical industry transitions toward Industry 4.0, hot melt adhesive production lines are becoming increasingly automated. Modern steel belt flaking coolers are now integrated with smart sensors that monitor belt tension, temperature profiles, water spray pressure, and discharge scraper wear in real time.
Predictive maintenance algorithms analyze this data to schedule servicing before mechanical faults occur, minimizing unplanned downtime. Furthermore, variable frequency drives (VFDs) on the steel belt motors and pump systems allow the flaking cooler to adjust its speed dynamically based on the extruder's output, optimizing energy usage.
Additionally, the rising demand for bio-based and biodegradable hot melts (such as PLA-based and starch-based adhesives) introduces new cooling challenges. These green materials often have slower crystallization rates and lower thermal stability. Our laboratory is actively developing customized cooling profiles and specialized surface coatings for steel belts to ensure these sustainable adhesives can be processed at high commercial speeds.
